I should say that the vehicle has maintenance records, which includes every tank of gas, going back 147,000 miles to the day it was driven off the lot by my gf's cousin. It's not replaceable in the sense that it really is a GOOD vehicle; never wrecked before this, ran like a top, always professionally maintained. That's my contention regarding the diff. between market value and cost of repair.

recently took a new job in Canada as a social worker and tried to add business coverage on my vehicle. I was told by my insurance company that this would be commercial because there is some risk I would have kids in the car. I called another company who told me it is just business. The initial company is cancelling my policy as they do not offer commercial insurance which they claim I require. They are not cancelling it for any negative reasons but will this cancellation show up and effect my rates even though it is not my fault. I tried to add the correct insurance but they did not have it so they are cancelling me. Beware of these guys; they are dangerous... In my state alone you don't have to buy car insurance if you can post a bond or if you have a fleet of cars i.e. if you can SHOW YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO PAY FOR any damage you cause with your car. If I can pay for my own health care, why would I buy health insurance?

A buddy of mine who lives in Washington registers their cars with their dealer license. My buddy claims that his car insurance is only about $20.00 a month because of his dealer license. My family and I are beginning to pick cars up on craigslist and flipping them and are getting a dealer license so I'm wondering if in the state of Oregon, if the car insurance will be cheap like that or is that a Washington only thing? Not continuously insured? Car insurance?

I sold my car two weeks ago and canceled both the insurance and revoked the registration for the new person. I just bought a new car and tried to get insurance and the company is saying they can't do it because I haven't been continuously insured. How am I supposed to be continuously insured if I didn't own ANY vehicle for two weeks? This makes no sense to me. Now they refuse to give me a quote.

My boyfriend bought a car but placed it under my name because his credit was not good enough. I am on the title as the buyer and he is down as the cosigner. He makes all payments and he is the primary driver. I have a car of my own and my own insurance co. Do I have to be under his car insurance as well even if I have my own?
